Marcia Hull

Senior Pastor

I am married to our Church Administrator, John Hull, and we have three adult children who live close enough so we can be engaged in real life together.  We have 5 over-the-top grandkids with whom I adore spending time with.

I have been in full-time ministry with the Church of the Nazarene for over 17 years, first in Elk Grove as Children’s/Associate Pastor where I was ordained in 2010, then to Midtown Sacramento in January of 2013 as Associate Pastor.  I became Sr. Pastor in January 2019.

I began my relationship with Jesus when I was a teenager, and although my life has had many twists and turns like everyone else, I am a committed, surrendered servant of Jesus Christ. I love God and I love people.

Angela Pennant

Nursery and Kids Connection Director

I am married to Javier Pennant and we have a sweet newborn son named Jackson.

In addition to serving First church by running the Nursery and Kids Connection, I also work full-time for the county of Sacramento as a Social Worker. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling with a minor in Youth Ministry from Liberty University.

My husband and I both serve on the church board and we both participate in the music ministry here at First Church. First Church is my home and my family.

Shane Dakan

Youth Connection Director

I have lived in the greater Sacramento area almost all my life. I was born again and baptized as a youth, during my middle school years. I felt a call to ministry in High School but God had a lot of years to work in me to prepare me to answer my calling.

I served in the US Navy for 5 years right after 9/11. I got married to my beautiful wife Jessica shortly after completing my service. About a year after getting married, we had our first child, my amazing daughter, Cali. Her brother, Bodie, followed along about a year and a half later and he completed our little family.

I've served at First Church since 2022 and have been the Youth Director the entire time. I'm currently pursuing the ordination course of study through Nazarene Bible College while also continuing my work with our students at First Church and being a stay-at-home dad.

Kyle Roland

Worship Ministries Director

I grew up at First Church following my grandparents decades of attendance and membership. I spent my childhood Sunday mornings eating Marie’s donuts (If you know, you know- the absolute best donuts in Sacramento) on the way to Sunday school. I spent a week, nearly every summer, at our district church camps, where I first gave myself to the Lord at the age of 13, after being emotionally moved by a revenant worship song. Baptized in our nearly 100 year old fellowship hall soon after, the Lord had a permeant grasp on my soul.

When I came home from the hospital in the summer of 1993, my parents gave me a Harmonica as a teething toy (which also doubled as a locating device.) I became a professional musician at the age of 10 traveling with a local blues rock band across the state. I formed my own band at the age of 16, further enhancing skills of leadership, organization, and education in music. My passions in Blues, R&B, Jazz, Country/Western, and early Rock-n-Roll all have their roots in gospel music. Outside of church and music, I enjoy antiquing, hunting for hip vintage clothing, fishing, and traveling to uncharted territory. I am also currently attending Sacramento State College obtaining a Bachelors degree in Political Science. Following my degree in Political Science, I plan to further my education into Theology, on the path to ordination. As a ministry leader at Sacramento First Church, It is my mission to bring people closer to God through music and worship, devoting all of themselves to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
